Sun lotions, basically, are beauty products that individuals may use to protect their skin from damages that occur as a result of continuous exposure to the sun and the ultraviolet rays. Sun tans, screens or even block can also be used to refer to the same thing. Additionally, they may either in the form of a gel or creams. As expected, their role is to assist the skin absorb the UV rays and reflect the sunlight. These lotions have even been incorporated into skin Lighteners as this makes the skin susceptible to many problems.

Sun lotions usually have several ingredients. They contain organic compounds. They help in absorbing the ultraviolet rays. They also contain organic and inorganic particulates that assist in the reflection of the rays. Some products may contain all of them and some may only have one or two. Basically, the sun lotions can be classified according to their mode of action. Physical sunscreens reflect sunlight but chemical tans usually absorb the UV rays.

Just like any other product, a lot of debate has been elicited concerning the safety of sun lotions. Though it aids in the prevention of sunburns and the development of basal cell carcinomas . It is even recommended by the American Cancer Society. Nevertheless, its use has created a lot of controversy. For instance, some of the tans do not block the rays but can cause an individual to develop melanoma. Research indicates that those who use sun lotions tend to accumulate a high level of UVA without them realizing.

Focusing on the positive aspects of these blocks, they are very effective and safe to apply. It should be applied twice a day and particularly when the sun is hot. This is like from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. During this period, a lot of UV rays are being radiated. Exposure to such conditions may lead to skin cancer and other conditions too. By applying sunscreen, the proteins that the skin has are maintained too. The end result is a beautiful and healthy looking skin.

People who use sun lotions have reaped several benefits. Aging does not come easy as the skin is well protected. In addition, they are not bound to get melanoma or cataracts as their skins can handle the sun and the rays. They are protected at all times.

Those people who do not use sunscreen are not spared either. By the simple fact that they are not using the sun lotions, they expose their skin to the sun and the dangerous UV radiations. As a result, they are at risk of developing cancer, skin damage, aging, a suppressed immunity and cataracts among other things.

Beauticians recommend that people should use the sun lotions at all times. Sunscreen must be applied at any time but specifically between ten a. M and four p. M as at this time, there are so many UV radiations at this time. At all times, ensure that you are well protected from the sun. As long as you are outdoors, wear sunglasses, long sleeved clothing and a hat too. In addition, apply a sun tan that has a SPF of 30 or higher if you are going to stay in the solar for too long.

Buyers are required to follow some advice before buying and using any of the sun lotions. Avoid buying cheap creams. Do not also go for costly ones. The key factor is to check out the ingredients first. Ensure that once you purchase it, use it all times even when the skin seems to appear fine.
